Pangasinan slope protection work to be completed Jan 2023 – DPWH
MANILA, Philippines — A slope protection project along the Alaminos-Bolinao Road in Pangasinan province is expected to be completed by January 2023, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Tuesday.
DPWH said the road project is already halfway done.
“The ongoing project is intended to make the critical slope along Alaminos-Bolinao Road more stable as heavy rains and natural calamities can trigger erosion and pose great risks to motorists,” DPWH Region 1 Director Rommel Tan said in a statement.
The project, implemented by the DPWH Pangasinan First District Engineering Office, involves the construction of stone masonry and the laying out of active wire mesh and erosion control mat.
According to the DPWH, the P96.5-million asset preservation works funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA) also cover the construction of a lined canal along the road to ensure proper water flow during heavy rains.
