MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.9 earthquake rocked Davao Occidental on Thursday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs said the earthquake struck at 4:10 a.m. Its epicenter was tracked some 58 kilometers southeast of Balut Island, in the municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
The tectonic earthquake had a depth of focus of 33 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated that no intensities were reported, and that damage and aftershocks are not expected.
