2 men try to scam Senate President Zubiri

MANILA, Philippines — Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri warned the public against scammers soliciting donations by pretending to be local government officials.

Zubiri said two men pretending to be Siquijor Gov. Jake Villa and provincial board member Abner Lomongo asked him for P50,000 in financial assistance for a supposed convention of provincial leaders.

The police arrested two men, Danilo Ledesma and Bryan Ledesma, in an entrapment operation in Zambales.
