Laguna has new top cop

LUCENA CITY—After his five-month stint as chief of police in Laguna, Police Colonel Cecilio Ison Jr., on Tuesday, August 23, handed over the leadership of the provincial police force to Police Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio in a ceremony at Camp Paciano Rizal in Santa Cruz town.

Police Brigadier General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr, Police Regional Office 4A chief, presided over the 9 a.m. ceremony, said the Laguna police public information office on social media.

Ison held the position since late March after replacing Police Colonel Rogarth Campo.

Nartatez congratulated Ison “for a job well done” and challenged Silvio to surpass the accomplishments of his predecessor.

Silvio called on the Laguna police force to “deliver best public service to the community.”

He declared that he aimed to enhance the management of police operations, intensify the campaign against illegal drugs, improve and implement the case management plan, and account persons under police custody.

Before his new designation, Silvio was the chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the National Capital Region.

He is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy “Kapanalig” Class of 1997.
