LUCENA CITY—A motorcycle rider died Tuesday, August 23, after his vehicle slid on the wet section of the road in Santa Maria town in Laguna province, police said.
The Police Regional Office 4A reported Wednesday that while traveling around 9:50 p.m. along the provincial road, motorcycle rider Ian Jomar Aguado slid due to a wet and slippery pavement in Barangay Inayapan.
Rains have been pouring since Sunday over many areas in Luzon due to Severe Tropical Storm “Florita” (international name: Ma-on), causing many roads to turn slippery or become flooded.
The victim consequently crashed into a concrete pathway on the right side of the road.
The victim was found to have died on the spot from a grave head injury.
The police are conducting further investigation.
