Jeepney driver yields illegal gun, shabu in Quezon raid

LUCENA CITY — A public utility jeepney driver was arrested in Candelaria town in Quezon province early Sunday, August 21, for unlawful possession of a firearm and illegal drugs, police said.

Candelaria police reported that operatives armed with search warrants swooped down on the house of Anthony Papa, 36, in Barangay (village) Sta. Catalina Sur at around 2:30 a.m.

Papa yielded one undocumented caliber .45 pistol and three magazines with 28 bullets.

The raiders also found eight plastic sachets with shabu (crystal meth) residue and drug paraphernalia.
