TEACHER SHOT, INJURED

A FEMALE public school teacher was shot and injured by a visitor outside her home  in barangay Labangon, Cebu City.

Judith Servan, 52, a teacher at the Labangon Elementary School, was wounded in the left leg.

Apparently the gunman was after someone else.

The unidentified man arrived in the teacher’s house in Bellaville Homes on Salvador Extension past 6 p.m. last Monday.

The victim’s maid went to the gate and then told Servan that someone was looking for her.

Servan told police that the man was looking for a certain Rosalie.

The teacher opened the gate when the man suddenly shot her and fled.

The teacher was rushed to a Cebu City hospital.

Police said it was possible that the assailant had no intention of killing the teacher.

SPO1 Ruth Violango, homicide investigator of the Cebu City police, said the teacher gave some information that could help solve the case.

Details were withheld pending an operation to arrest the gunman./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON

MAN FALLS IN DRUG BUY-BUST

A 40-YEAR-OLD man was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Pilipog, Cordova town,  Mactan Island, Cebu.

Jose Cañete allegedly sold a pack of suspected shabu to a policeman who acted as a poseur-buyer.

Police said 10 small packs of suspected shabu were seized from Cañete after he was arrested outside his house past 8 p.m. last Monday.

PO2 Marcelo Cometa said Cañete admitted that he got his drug supply from barangay Pasil, Cebu City.
