3 dead, 2 hurt in Quezon, Cavite road mishaps

LUCENA CITY—Three motorcycle drivers died, and two back-riders were injured in separate road accidents on Wednesday and Thursday in Cavite and Quezon provinces.

The Quezon police reported that Peter John Sesperes, 38, a fireman, was traveling at 2:20 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, aboard his motorcycle when he lost control of the vehicle along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Villa Padua in Gumaca town.

The wayward motorcycle hit a side of a bridge, throwing Sesperes off the vehicle and onto the pavement.

Sesperes, who was wearing a crash helmet, suffered injuries and was taken to the Gumaca District Hospital but died on the way.

In Silang, Cavite, two motorcycles and a Ford Explorer collided around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the town center.

Motorcycle drivers Faulo Wales and Troy Jamil Moreno and their respective back riders, Ramoniel Wales and John Mico Moreno, suffered injuries and were taken to the nearest hospital.

The police report said Faulo was declared dead on arrival, while Troy Jamil died while being treated.

Jaime Aldava, the sport utility vehicle driver, was in police custody.
