Teams C, E post wins in CEKALCO hoops
TEAM C routed Team D, 79-60, while Team E crushed Team A, 74-65, Friday night in the ongoing Center Katipunan A. Lopez Christian Organization (CEKALCO) 2012 First Conference basketball tournament at the A. Lopez open court in barangay Labangon, Cebu City.
After a close first half, Team C tightened the noose on its defense at the bend for the lopsided win.
Robert Bistis scattered a game-high 26 points to led Team C while Dowin Panungalinog, Dong Sumalinog and Tiks Bacho combined for 36 points. Edwin Lazaga paced Team D with 21 markers.
In the main game, Team E crushed Team A, 74-65, for its 2nd win in three games.
Both protagonists engaged in an air-tight battle in the first three periods before Team E whipped up a furious offensive storm in the fourth led by the tandem of Ritchie Villarosa and Danny Desoyo for the nine-point win.
Villarosa and Desoyo fired a game-high 24 and 22 points, respectively for Team E while George Aspera paced Team A with 22 points.
This event is made possible thru the efforts of CEKALCO officials headed by its president, Roland Sameon and vice president, SPO1 Nelson Solana.
