CIDG revamped
MANILA, Philippines—The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has reshuffled some key officials after a review of performance at regional and divisional offices.
CIDG Director Samuel D. Pagdilao Jr. said he approved the reassignments of new regional and divisional chiefs to improve efficiency and performance in the agency, particularly in the campaigns against wanted criminals.
Pagdilao, who led the turnover rites on Monday, said the reshuffle, involving six senior officers, was “part of the continuing changes” in the CIDG, which recently launched investigations into allegations that its agents tried to extort huge sums of money from foreigners.
Supt. Honorio R. Agnila took over as acting chief of the Operations Management Division on March 15, replacing Senior Supt. Edgar C. Danao, now the chief of the CIDG in Region 9.
Danao replaced the former Region 9 CIDG chief, Senior Supt. Generoso Bonifacio, who retired in February.
