MANILA, Philippines — The combined effects of a low-pressure area (LPA) near Luzon and the southwest monsoon, locally known as “habagat,” will continue to bring rain over most of Luzon on Tuesday.
Chriz Perez, a senior weather specialist at the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), said the LPA was last sighted 270 kilometers west of Calayan, Cagayan.
“Inaasahan ang pinagsamang epekto ng LPA sa nakararaming bahagi ng Luzon, maliban na lang sa Bicol region kung saan magiging mainit hanggang maalinsangan pero may tiyansa rin ng isolated rainshowers dakong hapon at gabi,” he said.
(The combined effects of the LPA are expected in most parts of Luzon, except for the Bicol region where it will be hot to humid, but there is also a chance of isolated rain showers in the afternoon and evening.)
Pagasa also said the entire Visayas and Mindanao would see generally fairer weather on Tuesday despite chances of rain and isolated rain showers in the afternoon and evening due to localized thunderstorms.
No gale warning was raised, but moderate sea conditions are expected over Luzon’s western and northern seaboards, according to the state weather service.
Meanwhile, Pagasa issued the following temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Tuesday:
- Metro Manila: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
