MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Sunday said he underwent a procedure for his knees that will limit his activities over the next few days.
In a Facebook post, Sotto said he underwent a procedure called “platelet-rich plasma” (PRP) for both of his knees — injections commonly used to treat torn tendons, tendinitis, muscle injuries, arthritis-related pain, and joint injuries.
“Kaya bilin ng Doktor, bawasan ko muna ang paglalakad hanggang bukas (August 14-15, 2022),” said Sotto.
(That’s why the doctor said I should reduce my walking until tomorrow.)
“Kaya magpapaalam lang ako na limitado lang muna ang maaattendan kong events hanggang sa Martes (so I will just let you know that I will only be able to attend limited events until Tuesday),” he added.
He also bared that he also has another treatment scheduled next month to make his knees better.
“Sa susunod na buwan, HA/lubricant naman (pang senior na talaga haha), tapos strengthening program,” he said.
(In the next month, HA/lubricant (for seniors haha), then strengthening program.)
Sotto explained that at 33 years old, he already has a painful time walking because of his knees; even teasing that despite being young, he already has the knees of a senior citizen.
