6 drugs suspects busted in Camarines Sur buy-bust operations

LEGAZPI CITY — Authorities arrested six drug suspects who yielded some P162,800 worth of shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Camarines Sur on Saturday night.

Mark Anthony Viray, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)  – Camarines Sur chief, said Wilbert Grejalvo, 40; Jonathan Mempin, 32; Joey Alvis, 35; and Athena Rodrigueza, 32, were arrested while having a drug-using session in Barangay (village) Marupit in Camaligan town at around 6:50 p.m.

Viray said Grejalvo was identified as the drug den operator and the subject of the operation.

The PDEA agents and the police recovered 21 grams of shabu worth around P142,800, aluminum foil strips, unsealed plastic sachets with traces of shabu, and other drug-using paraphernalia.

Viray said all suspects tested positive for illegal drug use.

In Baao town, authorities arrested Jessa Vasquez, 35, and Jerico Tabayag, 36, in a separate buy-bust operation in Barangay Sagrada at around 10:55 p.m.

Authorities confiscated 2.5 grams of shabu worth P20,000 and a digital weighing scale.

The Camarines Sur police said Vasquez was identified as a street-level drug peddler in the said town.

The suspects will face. formal complaint for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
