Don’t use PS-DBM for procurements, senator urges
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian on Saturday urged all government agencies to use their own administrative processes to procure items and not course these through the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget Management (PS-DBM), which has been repeatedly embroiled in fund controversies.
Gatchalian expressed concern that government agencies seem to have set up the PS-DBM as a centralized purchasing unit but it has been abused by unscrupulous personnel. Gatchalian called on the Senate blue ribbon committee to conduct an inquiry.
