MANILA, Philippines — Most areas in the country may enjoy fair weather over the weekend as state meteorologists say that the southwest monsoon or habagat only affects the western side of Luzon, particularly areas near Palawan and the western coasts of Southern Luzon.
Satellite images shared during Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather updates on Friday afternoon showed that only thin clouds hover over the country, indicative of clearer skies compared to the past few days.
No weather disturbance or tropical cyclone is expected to enter the country in the next three days.
Due to the weather conditions, temperatures over Luzon would be generally warm for Saturday, ranging between 24 to 33 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, 24 to 35 degrees in Tuguegarao, 24 to 32 degrees in Laoag, 24 to 32 degrees in Legazpi, 16 to 21 degrees in Baguio, and 22 to 32 degrees in Tagaytay.
Puerto Princesa may have lower temperatures of 25 to 31 degrees Celsius due to the habagat that affects Palawan.
Similarly, Iloilo in Western Visayas may experience rains and 25 to 32 degrees Celsius temperatures.
But the rest of Visayas and Mindanao would have fair and warm weather, with Cebu having temperatures of 26 to 31 degrees, Tacloban and Cagayan de Oro with 25 to 31 degrees, Davao with 24 to 33 degrees, and Zamboanga with 25 to 33 degrees.
No gale warning has been raised in any part of the country despite the habagat’s effects in Palawan, as sea conditions would range from slight to moderate in most of the local waters.
