MANILA, Philippines — Seven more Senate panels got their chairpersons as the Senate resumed the nomination and election during Wednesday’s session.

Senators Francis Tolentino and Mark Villar received two committee chairmanships each.

Tolentino will head the Senate panel on justice and human rights; and accountability of public officers and investigations or the blue ribbon committee.

Villar, meanwhile, will lead the Senate committees on trade, commerce and entrepreneurship; and banks, financial institutions and currencies.

On the other hand, the Senate panel on cultural communities will be chaired by neophyte Senator Robin Padilla.

Meanwhile, Senators Pia Cayetano and Ramon “Bong” Revilla were elected as chairpersons of the Senate committee on sustainable development goals, innovation and futures thinking; and the panel on civil service, government reorganization and professional regulation, respectively.

Several senators were elected to head panels in the upper chamber in earlier sessions.
