Three dengue patients in Negros Occidental die

Mosquito-borne dengue disease claims the lives of three more people in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY — Three persons succumbed to dengue fever in Negros Occidental recently, bringing the total number of fatalities due to the mosquito-borne disease in the province to 17.

Provincial health officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang on Tuesday, August 9, appealed to those with dengue to immediately seek medical help to prevent deaths.

Negros Occidental had 2,948 dengue cases as of July 30, which is 956.63 percent higher than the cases logged in the same period last year.
