ORANI, Bataan – A man and his 20-year-old daughter died in a fire that razed a densely populated village in this town on Monday, Aug. 8.

Billy Ventura, chief of staff of Orani Mayor Efren Pascual Jr., said the unnamed fatalities were the husband and daughter of an employee of the town’s rural health unit.

The blaze started past 9 a.m. and was put out after an hour, said Senior Fire Officer 4 Glen Vitug of the local Bureau of Fire Protection.

Vitug said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire, which destroyed 14 houses that were made of light materials.

The municipal government will extend financial assistance to the families of the fire victims, said Ventura. INQ
