Batangas cop slain by motorcycle-riding men

LUCENA CITY—A policeman in Batangas province was shot dead Sunday by unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants.

Executive Master Sergeant Romel Panopio was driving his car at Barangay Calicanto in San Juan town at 3:10 p.m. August 7 when unidentified men on a motorcycle repeatedly shot him, a report from the Police Regional Office 4-A said.

The men escaped after the shooting and left their target dead.
