TABUK CITY — Police and anti-drug agents in this city and in Kalinga province uprooted and burned some 12,000 fully-grown marijuana plants in a plantation site here on Thursday (August 4) and Friday (August 5).
The marijuana eradication operation was dubbed “Oplan:Lindol” by police and wa conducted in Sitio (sub-village) Binongsay in the village of Malin-awa.
Police Major Garry Gayamos, Kalinga police spokesperson, said the burned marijuana plants worth P2.4 million were uprooted at a 1.2-hectare plantation.
No cultivators were arrested in the operation.
“This operation was the result of the collaborative effort of the local law enforcement partners and with the public to provide information,” police said in a statement Saturday, August 6.
