MANILA, Philippines — First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos hosted a luncheon at Malacañang Palace for lady ambassadors in the Philippines, thanking them for supporting her husband’s administration.

The luncheon happened on Wednesday, August 3, at the Rizal Hall, according to a video posted by the Radio Television Malacanang (RTVM) on Friday.

Attendees at the luncheon were US Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Loss Carlson, South Africa Ambassador Bartinah Ntombizodwa Radebe-Netshitenzhe, Papua New Guinea Ambassador Betty Palaso, Austria Ambassador Bita Rasoulian, Sri Lanka Ambassador Shobini Kaushala Gunasekera and Nigeria Ambassador Folakemi Ibidunni Akinleye.

Also present were Sweden Ambassador Annika Gunilla Thunborg, Denmark Ambassador Grete Sillasen, Germany Ambassador Anke Reiffenstuel, France Ambassador Michèle Jeannine Andrèe Boccoz, Netherlands Charge D’ Affaires Monica Theodora Geertruida van Daalen (Netherlands), and Panama Charge D’ Affaires Lhuana Pamella Lopez Amorim.

“Thank you for supporting my husband’s administration. I hope we get to do this more often,” Araneta-Marcos told the lady ambassadors during the luncheon.

During the lady ambassadors’ visit to Malacanang, Araneta-Marcos gave them a walking tour inside the Palace. The Simeona F. Chanyungco Lahing Kayumanggi Mananayaw ng Marikina Inc. also performed traditional Filipino dances.

“I really appreciate the atmosphere here of women supporting other women in important roles and that’s why we’re so honored to be here as per your first official engagement here, supporting you as a very important woman in this country. Frankly in this region and globe,” Carlson said.

“It’s a very challenging position to take up so we’re really grateful for the opportunity to be here and grateful for the opportunity to support each other,” she added.

Rasoulian likewise thanked Araneta-Marcos for “your most gracious hospitality.”

“I would like to express our gratitude on behalf of the diplomatic community of lady ambassadors. We are very grateful that you have taken the time today to be with us, to share this afternoon with us, for your most gracious hospitality” Rasoulian said.
