/ 09:13 PM March 19, 2012

A barangay chair was shot and killed by a lone assailant in his farm in Barangay (village) San Jose Malamig in San Pablo City in Laguna yesterday, police said.

Ramil Enobio, chair of Barangay III-C, died on the spot with a single bullet wound in the face, said Superintendent Ferdinand de Castro, city police chief.

Police are hunting down a certain Christopher Arrogancia, of Barangay San Jose Malamig and known to be a loan shark.

De Castro said several witnesses saw Arrogancia and Enobio talking at the farm at around 9:40 a.m. and that Arrogancia suddenly drew his gun and shot Enobio.  Maricar Cinco, Inquirer Southern Luzon
