MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Northern Luzon are expected to have overcast skies and rains due to southwest monsoon or habagat on Thursday, the state weather bureau said.

In its Wednesday weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes and Cagayan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to habagat.

The residents in said areas are advised to brace for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have a fair weather condition with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
