CAR, Ilocos Region to have overcast skies, rain due to habagat — Pagasa

Parts of Northern Luzon are expected to have overcast skies and rains due to southwest monsoon or habagat on Thursday, the state weather bureau said.

MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Northern Luzon are expected to have overcast skies and rains due to southwest monsoon or habagat on Thursday, the state weather bureau said.

In its Wednesday weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes and Cagayan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to habagat.

The residents in said areas are advised to brace for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have a fair weather condition with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Pagasa is monitoring a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility 455 kilometers west of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) with gustiness of 55 kph.

Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said the tropical depression is not affecting the weather condition in the country.

The state meteorologist has also not raised a gale warning to any seaboards nationwide.
