5-month-old girl infected with COVID-19 in Olongapo City

OLONGAPO CITY — At least 11 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in this city on Tuesday (Aug. 2), local data showed.

Among the newly infected patients is a 5-month-old girl from Barangay Barretto. She displayed COVID-19 symptoms, such as coughing.

Also infected is an 8-year-old boy from Barangay New Cabalan. He was also symptomatic.

The oldest among the new patients is a 75-year-old man from Barangay Gordon Heights.

According to the local task force, the new cases and 11 recoveries on Tuesday brought the city’s active infections to 58.

A total of 7,162 COVID-19 cases were registered in the city since the pandemic broke out in 2020. Of this figure, at least 6,750 have recovered from the disease, while 354 died.
