FILIPINO Carlo “The Black Tiger” Biado downed Taiwanese Yang Ching-shun, 9-3, to win the Philippine Bigtime Billiards (PBB) Face-Off Series dubbed Philippines versus Asia late Saturday at the Pagcor Airport Casino in Parañaque City.

After a 2-all deadlock in the fourth frame, the 1998 Asian Games 9-ball gold medallist Yang, nicknamed “the Son of Pool,” never had a chance to return to the table after Biado raced to a 7-2 lead.

The win was worth $5,000 for Biado while Yang settled for $2,500.

“Matapos makatabla si Yang sa fourth frame, hindi ko na siya talaga pang binigyan ng pagkakataon na makabalik sa laro ng magtala ako limang sunod na racks para kunin ko ang 7-2 lead,” said Biado, a former caddie from Rosario, La Union and one of the top players of Perry Mariano’s Bugsy Promotions.
