Aid from Pangasinan pours for quake victims in Abra
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Pangasinan provincial government has sent financial help through the League of Provinces that pledged P100,000 each member for the earthquake victims in Abra province.
Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III said the provincial government has also sent potable water for the victims of the magnitude 7.0 earthquake on Friday, July 29, “as we learned that potable water was the most needed commodity there.”
“We also lent two provincial buses to the Bureau of Fire Protection which sent a team to help there, and the buses were used to bring back our provincemates who wanted to go back to Pangasinan,” Guico said in an interview Saturday.
“We are blessed that while the tremor was strong in Pangasinan, there were no major damage and everyone is safe, so we will try our best to help the province of Abra to cope with the calamity. But we will wait for the assessment on what is most needed,” Guico said.
In La Union, the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) located in San Fernando City deployed 40 personnel as Health Emergency Response Team to Abra.
The Philippine Information Agency said the team is composed of medical, surgical, and ancillary including public health, mental health, and psychosocial support.
