Students, newly grads given employment in municipalities in Antique

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has appointed 925 senior high school students and recent graduates to work in 18 municipalities and other government agencies in Antique starting on August 1.

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has appointed 925 senior high school students and recent graduates to work in 18 municipalities and other government agencies in Antique starting on August 1.

According to Carmela Abellar, DOLE Antique provincial director, the interns under the program will have the chance to develop their skills and abilities in performing office work and other clerical tasks in preparation for their future permanent employment.

Abellar said the Department of Education (DepEd) would assign the interns to administrative tasks or to serve as “para-teachers” to help the students.

She noted that the DepEd would be the one to identify the job that will be provided to the interns based on their qualifications.
