30-year old dies after accident in Taguig fluvial parade
MANILA, Philippines — The body of a 30-year old who was reported missing after an accident in a fluvial parade in Taguig has been found, the Philippine Coast Guard said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the PCG said the victim identified as Chester Romero, 30 year old, was found 30 meters within the Bambang Bridge in Barangay Tuktukan, Taguig City, where the accident occurred.
Romero was found at around 6:20 am on Wednesday, according to PCG.
The Coast Guard said his body was already turned over to his family.
The two boats sank due to a river crash at around 5:46 p.m. on Tuesday after the parade in celebration of the Feast of Santa Ana and the Taguig River Festival, the local government said.
The Taguig City Government, pointed out that the two boats involved in the accident were not officially included in the river festival as those who are participants were wearing life vests and had a security briefing with rescue boats accompanying them.
