Cops identify 5 men massacred in Bulacan

Police on Tuesday (July 26)  identified the five men who were shot and killed by still unidentified perpetrators while clearing a grassy area in this town on Monday.

DOÑA REMEDIOS TRINIDAD, Bulacan—Police on Tuesday (July 26)  identified the five men who were shot and killed by still unidentified perpetrators while clearing a grassy area in this town on Monday.

Col. Charlie Cabradilla, Bulacan police director, said the victims were farmers Pampilo “Pilo” Boñaga, 55, and Angelo Del Castillo, 33; and brothers Carlito Caloy Servano, 48, Rogelio Servano 43, and Antonio Servano, 45, all residents of Sitio Armstrong in Barangay Camachile in this town.

Boñaga and Del Castillo worked as part-time grass cutters and invited the three brothers. They were hired to clear a remote grassy area that is locked in a land dispute, investigators said.

Cabradilla said he had formed an investigation support team to help the local police unit under Capt. Eugenio de Ramos, chief of the town’s police, solve the killings.

Personnel of the local police forensic unit found three spent shells for a.9 mm firearm.

The five victims were found dead with bullet wounds shortly before lunch on Monday.

At around 10:30 a.m., residents said they heard gunshots coming from the crime site.

Cabradilla told the Inquirer they already have a person of interest but refused to provide details pending the full investigation.
