Olongapo City posts 5-month high active COVID-19 cases

OLONGAPO CITY–At least eight new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in this city, raising to 41 its active infections, local data showed Sunday, July 24.

The current number of active COVID-19 cases was the city’s highest since Feb. 14, based on the records of the local task force.

Except for one, the newly virus-infected patients were all fully vaccinated against the viral disease. All of them showed COVID-19 symptoms, such as cough, fever, sore throats, and colds.

The youngest among them is a 20-year-old man from Barangay Sta. Rita, while the oldest is a 41-year-old man from Barangay Gordon Heights.

A total of 7,088 COVID-19 cases have already been tallied in the city. Of this figure, at least 6,694 were al;ready tagged as recoveries, while 353 were deaths.

Healthcare workers were also monitoring 14 suspected COVID-19 cases as of Sunday. INQ
