Active COVID-19 cases in Olongapo City jump to 25

OLONGAPO CITY — Nine new COVID-19-infected patients, including a three-year-old boy, were added to the growing number of cases in this city, local data showed Friday.

The toddler, who is a resident of Barangay New Cabalan, displayed symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever and sore throat.

According to the local COVID-19 task force, the other new cases are between 16 and 53 years old who are mostly fully vaccinated against the viral disease and showed symptoms.

The new cases brought to 25 active COVID-19 infections in the city.

A total of 7,064 COVID-19 cases have been registered in the city since 2020. Of this figure, 6,686 were recoveries, while 353 were deaths.

At least 20 suspected COVID-19 cases were also being monitored by healthcare workers.
