Former inmate, boy hurt in Pasil shooting

A former inmate was shot and wounded by an unidentified assailant in barangay Pasil, Cebu City.

Robert Pacaña Harquillo, 38, sustained gunshot wounds in the head and body.

A 13-year-old boy who was sleeping on a wooden bench near the crime scene was wounded in the buttocks by a stray bullet.

Harquillo and the boy were taken to separate hospitals in Cebu City, said police.

A personal grudge is being looked into as a possible motive for the attack, said police.

Harquillo was previously detained at the Cebu City Jail. His case was not immediately known.

Police said Harquillo was walking in an alley looking for his younger brother when he was shot early morning yesterday.

The assailant fled on foot.

Witnesses described the assailant as slim in build and in his 30s, said police./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
