Cebu faces Leyte as PFF U-23 starts

CEBU WILL OPEN its campaign against Leyte in the Visayas leg of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Suzuki Cup Under 23 today at the Leyte Sports Complex.

The qualifyings is played in a home-and-away format with the top three teams advancing to the national finals.

The Cebu team is represented by the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) after it won the Men’s Under-23 title of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup.

USJ-R head coach Joselito Bono said he beefed up his team with seven players coming from three schools.

Bono got Jason Calungsad from the University of Cebu, Aljohn Armamento and LJ Reyes from the University of Southern Philippines Foundation and Neil Anthony Rosauro, Edmar Madrilejo, Anthony Tabuylog and Ben Magbanua from the Don Bosco Boys Home./CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
