P44,200 shabu seized from 2 suspects in Naga City

PNP, PDEA seize P1.1 million 'shabu', marijuana; nab 4 drug suspects

LEGAZPI CITY—Anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested Friday two drug suspects and seized shabu (crystal meth) worth P44,200 in Naga City in Camarines Sur.

Police Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said on July 23, that John Patrick Aguirre, 22, was arrested at 9:40 p.m. in Barangay Balatas.

Recovered from the suspect were 1.5 grams of shabu worth P10,200.

In Barangay San Felipe, Edrando Mesa, 41, was arrested at 11:58 p.m. after selling 2.5 grams of shabu worth P7,500.

During the body search, the authorities also recovered four sachets of shabu and a caliber .38 gun.

Bongon said shabu worth a total of P34,000 was confiscated from Mesa.

The suspects, who are on the illegal drug watch list, face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
