Rape suspect nabbed in Pampanga after 9 years in hiding
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—The police in Guagua town arrested Wednesday the suspect in a 2013 rape case after he went into hiding for nine years.
Acting Pampanga police director Colonel Alvin Consolacion said the suspect, Alfredo Mercado Jr., 34, is the most wanted person in Guagua.
Guagua police, led by Major Joel Dela Cruz, conducted the operation at Barangay Plaza Burgos after Judge Amor Dimatatac-Romero of the Guagua Regional Trial Court Branch 50 issued an alias warrant against Mercado Jr. for rape.
Mercado Jr. was detained at the Guagua police station before facing the court. INQ
