National COVID-19 positivity rate rises from 12.8 % to 13.5 % – OCTA Research
MANILA, Philippines — The national COVID-19 positivity rate on Thursday rose from 12.8 percent to 13.5 percent, according to OCTA Research fellow Guido David.
The Department of Health (DOH) earlier reported 2,282 new cases, further pushing the number of active cases nationwide to 22,207.
“22,207 active cases, 13.5% nationwide positivity rate. 1,002 cases in NCR. Projecting 3,000 cases 7.22.22,” said David on social media.

The latest positivity rate is almost triple the World Health Organization’s ideal threshold of only 5 percent.
The DOH previously warned that the daily tally for COVID-19 infections nationwide may reach as high as 17,000 by the end of July.
Daily cases in Metro Manila, on the other hand, could hit 11,000.
As of July 21, the country’s total caseload is at 3,741,987, with 3,659,139 recoveries and 60,641 deaths, based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker on its website.
