Social media influencer Atty. Bruce Rivera in ‘coma’ due to aneurysm

MANILA, Philippines — Lawyer and social media influencer Bruce Rivera is currently in critical condition after slipping into a coma after he suffered an aneurysm.
In a Facebook live on Wednesday, Rivera’s friend MJ Quiambao Reyes revealed that Rivera was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday, already unconscious and unresponsive.
Reyes appealed to the public for prayers for her friend.
“It’s time to let the public know and her friends know that she is in critical condition. Nasa hospital siya. He’s in a coma. Kaya medyo hindi maganda. We need your prayers,” Reyes said.

Reyes said Rivera needs surgery, and they need to transfer him to a bigger hospital so neurosurgeons can see him.
She also said they are waiting for Rivera’s mother, Lorna, to come home to the Philippines to decide the next step for the lawyer.
“Kaya kami nag-agree i-intubate siya para at least to extend Bruce’s life at maantay niya si Mommy Lorna and Mommy Lorna will have to decide kung mag-undergo pa ng operation,” Reyes said.
(That’s why we agreed to intubate him so we could extend his life and wait for Mommy Lorna to arrive and have her decide if Bruce should still undergo an operation.)

Rivera is a known supporter of former President Rodrigo Duterte and is likewise known to be close to Vice President Sara Duterte.
Former acting presidential spokesman Martin Andanar also appealed for prayers for Rivera.
“Fight and get well soon, Atty. Bruce!” he wrote in a Facebook post.
