Peña takes oath as mayor of Pulupandan, Negros Occ.

BACOLOD CITY — Vice Mayor Miguel Antonio Peña took his oath of office as mayor of Pulupandan town before Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson at the capitol on Wednesday morning, July 20.

Peña replaced his cousin Mayor Lorenzo Suatengco who resigned due to health reasons.

Suatengco’s cousin, Councilor Anthony Gerard Suatengco, also took his oath of office as vice mayor of Pulupandan.

Peña, a three-term mayor, ran for vice mayor of Pulupandan in the May 2022 polls, while his uncle Antonio Suatengco ran for mayor.

Antonio, 72, who was unopposed, died on February 27 and was replaced as a candidate for mayor by his son Lorenzo.
