PNP seizes P680K worth of shabu in Cebu City bust

MANILA, Philippines – At least P680,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized from a “high-value” suspect during a buy-bust operation in Cebu City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported.

In a statement on Tuesday, PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said the suspect, identified as Elmer Alfonso Camia, 37, was arrested by authorities during the bust at Unit 5, Opra, Barangay (village) Kalunsan on Monday afternoon.

Camia was listed as a “high-value” drug suspect, police said.

Recovered from Camia were 21 plastic packs containing the suspected shabu weighing around 100 grams, the buy-bust money, and a sling bag.

The PNP said the suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Cebu City Police Office for documentation and proper disposition.

Complaints for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect, police further said.
