NPA rebel nabbed in Masbate town

DepEd Masbate condemns killing of elementary school principal

LEGAZPI CITY—A New People’s Army member, who was wanted for murder, was arrested on Monday, July 18, in Placer town in Masbate province, the police reported Tuesday.

Masbate police said they served at 6:20 p.m. an arrest warrant against Joe Martin Calo, 20, in Barangay Daraga.

Calo, also known as Reymart Calo, was a member of Larangan 2 of Komiteng Probinsya 4 since 2018, the report said.

The group is under Reynaldo Mollejon, also known as Ka RM, operating in the third district of Masbate.

Judge Igmedio Emilio Fidel Camposano of the regional trial court branch 49 in Cataingan, Masbate, issued the arrest warrant on November 16, 2021.

The police did not give details on the murder case of Calo.
