P102K worth of ‘shabu’ seized from 2 suspects in Naga City
LEGAZPI CITY – Anti-narcotics operatives arrested two suspected drug personalities and recovered P102,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Naga City in Camarines Sur province on Monday (July 18) afternoon.
Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said in a report that Araceli Arbuis, 67, and her grandson Bench Arbuis, 20, were arrested after selling a sachet or five grams of shabu worth P17,000 (or P34,000 in the street market) to an undercover agent in Barangay San Felipe at around 3:20 p.m.
During the body search, the police recovered another 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000 from the suspects.
Bongon said Araceli was included in the illegal drugs watch list in the Bicol region.
The suspects were detained and were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
