Road repairs along C-5 expedited, will be passable Monday night

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) on Monday said it is expediting the completion of road repairs along C-5 southbound in Makati City so it would become passable by 7 p.m.
In an advisory, the DPWH, through the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), asked for additional time to complete its work since its original target was to reopen the affected road segment by 5 a.m. Monday.
But heavy rains on Sunday affected the concrete pavement’s curing.

According to the MMDA, floodwaters had to be removed to repeat the curing process, thus delaying the target reopening.
The road repair also covered parts of Edsa and some roads in Quezon City. Motorists were then advised to take alternate routes. — Nicole Faye Agcaoili, INQUIRER.net intern
