Fire razes two houses in Lapu

TWO houses were razed yesterday in the fifth fire to hit Lapu-Lapu City this month, known as Fire Prevention Month.

The fire started at the house of Rudy Aying at 12:45 p.m. The fire spread to another house owned by Juanita Bontuyan. Damage was pegged at P110,000.

Aying, a tricycle driver, and his partner Lina Elian were not at home when the fire broke out.

Investigators said the couple’s children were seen playing with matches in their house before the fire broke out.

The couple eldest 7-year-old son hurriedly carried out his three siblings when flames started to engulf their house.

The fire victims were brought to the barangay hall where they were attended by social workers.
