MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) is on the lookout for a spokesperson, Vice President Sara Duterte said on Thursday.

In an ambush interview in Manila, Duterte, who concurrently sits at the helm of DepEd, urged interested individuals to submit their applications.

“We are calling on everyone who are interested to apply as spokesperson ng (of the) Department of Education. We welcome them,” she appealed. “Sa ngayon, we are doing interviews sa posibleng maging spokesperson ng Department of Education.”

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed Duterte as DepEd secretary, saying she would fulfill her job well because she is a mother and “she wants to make sure that her children are well-trained and well-educated.”

As education secretary, Duterte ordered all schools in the country to shift to full face-to-face classes by November 2.
