78% of Filipinos satisfied with Duterte’s performance as president —SWS
MANILA, Philippines — Seventy-eight percent of Filipinos were satisfied with Rodrigo Duterte’s performance as president, according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, the results of which were released on Wednesday.
Thirteen percent were dissatisfied and 9 percent were undecided about Duterte’s service.
The survey was conducted from April 19 to 27 through face-to-face interviews with 1,440 adults sampled nationwide.
The sampling error margins are ±2.6% for national percentages and ±5.2% for Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
The SWS said that the resulting net satisfaction rating — the percentage of those satisfied minus the percentage of those dissatisfied — is +65, which is classified as “very good.”
Article continues after this advertisementThe net satisfaction rating has swelled by five points from the “very good” +60 in December and the +60 average for 2021.
Article continues after this advertisementDuterte’s net satisfaction inched up in all areas and was classified as “very good” in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, and the Visayas. It was “excellent” in Mindanao.
The SWS said that Duterte’s rating was “very good,” both in urban and rural areas as well as among both men and women.
Duterte’s net satisfaction rating improved from “very good” to “excellent” among adults aged 18 to 24. It stayed “very good” among 25- to 54-year-olds. Among people aged 55 and older, the rating rose from “good” to “very good.”
While the rating dipped from “excellent” to “very good” among college graduates, Duterte’s rating in all education groups was “very good.”
The former president’s rating grew from “good” to “very good” among those who either had no formal education or some elementary education.
Meanwhile, it stayed at “very good” among those who finished junior or senior high school, had some senior high school, had some or completed vocational schooling, or attended some college.
