Seized from the suspect were nine heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P340,000, according to the police.

Chavez is now in the custody of the Makati City Police Station.

Later on the same day, operatives nabbed Rexan Godino Apigo, 46, Vicente Llander Gasilos, 60, and HelenMie Puzon Abueva, 32, in Barangay (village) San Isidro, Parañaque City.

The SPD said 29 plastic sachets containing P204,000 worth of shabu were confiscated from the arrested suspects.

Gasilos, Abueva, and Abueva are currently detained at the SPD District Drug Enforcement Unit office, while complaints for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2022 are being readied against them.

“Ang sunod-sunod na operasyon kontra illegal na droga sa ating nasasakupan ay bunga ng ating maigting na kampanya kontra illegal na droga,” said SPD Director Police Brigadier General Jimili Macaraeg. “Makakaasa po kayo na sa pamamagitan ng inyong suporta at suporta mula sa ating gobyerno, magtutuloy-tuloy ang ating kampanya upang wakasan ang mapinsalang illegal na droga.”

(The continuous anti-illegal drug operations in our area stem from the government’s nationwide crackdown against illegal drugs. Rest assured that with support from the public and the government, the police will not stop until it puts an end to the problem on illegal drugs.)

The PNP earlier said it welcomes the move to continue the war against illegal drugs of former President Rodrigo Duterte under the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.,

Activist groups, however, have called on the present government not to continue the drug war of the previous administration.
