MANILA, Philippines – Police authorities seized some P3.4-million worth of crystal meth, locally known as “shabu,” in an operation conducted in Balintawak Market in Quezon City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported.

PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. on Monday said police found the illegal drugs in possession of 36-year-old Mary Grace Pantinople during an anti-illegal drug operation.

The anti-illegal drug operation happened on Sunday, July 10, authorities said. Seized from the suspect were packs of shabu with an estimated worth of P3.4 million.

“The operation was carefully done in order not to create undue panic among those people in the public area,” Danao said in a statement.

“I congratulate our hardworking personnel for the success of this anti-illegal drug effort,” he added. Christine Annie Asistio, INQUIRER.net intern
