MANILA, Philippines — Preparation is underway for the Presidential Security Group (PSG) ahead of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s first State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 25.
The PSG said it spearheaded an inter-agency meeting on Monday following the instruction from PSG commander Col. Ramon Zagala “to ensure the safety and security of the President.”
The meeting was attended by PSG personnel as well as augmentations from various government security agencies and units under the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Department of Health (DOH) and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA).
“Series of oculars, walk-throughs and inter-agency coordinations follow until the day of the SONA itself,” the PSG said.
