Fire displaces 21 families in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines — At least 21 families or 72 individuals were displaced after a fire damaged 10 houses in a residential area in Caloocan City on Sunday night.

In a report on Monday, the Caloocan Central Fire Station (CFS) said the fire started at around 7:43 p.m. in a house along 127 Josefina St. on 3rd Avenue, Barangay 120, Gracepark.

The Caloocan CFS identified the owner of the house where the fire started as Morita Rano Cañete, but occupants, cousins Kent John Cañete and John Kenneth Cañete, were at the house when the fire broke out.

According to the report, the fire reached the first alarm at 7:50 p.m. and was placed under control at 08:59 p.m.

The fire was declared out at 10 p.m.

The Caloocan CFS reported no casualties and injured persons but said that 10 houses or establishments were burned down due to the blaze.

Displaced families were brought to the barangay multi-purpose hall, Hurtado said.

The blaze cost estimated damage worth P300,000.
