Drunken man stabs elder brother in Quezon

LUCENA CITY—A drunken man on Thursday stabbed his elder brother in a fit of rage inside their house in Sariaya town in Quezon province.

The Sariaya police report said the drunk suspect, Joselito Landicho, 40, arrived at 10:35 p.m. in their house in Barangay Manggalang 1.

Joselito and his elder brother, Pedro, 52, who was also drunk, had a heated argument.

The altercation led Joselito to stab Pedro repeatedly in the chest and back.

Joselito escaped while Pedro, who suffered grave injuries, was rushed by his relatives to Quezon Medical Center in this city.

Corporal Jerico Pastrana, the case investigator, citing information from family members, said Joselito got furious when he arrived in the house and saw Pedro creating chaos.

“In rage during their argument and the effects of liquor, the suspect was forced to stab his brother,” Pastrana said during a phone interview.

In a visit to the hospital Friday morning, Pastrana said the victim declared that he would not file criminal charges against his brother. INQ
